Epic was designed to address the DNA-damaging free-radical cascade of Nitric Oxide (NO), converting to Peroxynitrite (ONOO), and back to NO again, that is associated with prolonged cytokine activity. EPIC facilitates cellular use of catalase, glutathione, and superoxide dismutase to break the NO/ONOO cycle and quench free radicals.
