Research indicates that American ginseng taken before or during a glucose challenge helps to reduce blood glucose, which may help modulate the downstream effects of chronically elevated blood sugar.
    Astragalus - an herb that has been shown to lower various markers of poor kidney function including BUN, creatinine and serum albumin while also demonstrating the ability to reduce fasting blood glucose levels and albuminuria levels in models of diabetic nephropathy.
